Product description

Product ALFA FR COAT I is a dark gray, single-component intumescent paint. It is used for coating metal pipes and cables and is supplied in buckets.

The ALFA FR COAT intumescent paint is designed for passive fire protection. When exposed to fire, the paint spreads across the surface, gives the integrity and insulation up to EI 240.

Application

Product ALFA FR COAT I is designed for fire protection of uninsulated metal pipes and cables, cable bundles passing through a partition (flexible walls, rigid walls, rigid floors) with or without cable trays/ladders. The classification includes all types of cables and optical fibers used in European construction market. The paint ALFA FR COAT I should be applied to the required length and maintaining the appropriate dry layer thickness – in accordance with the technical data sheet (TDS).

The ALFA FR COAT I intumescent paint can be applied either with a cement mortar filler or with a double INTU FR BOARD A which is a 60 mm thick wool board coated with the INTU FR COAT A ablative coating.

Prone walls

The wall should be at least 125 mm thick (constructed with a minimum of two gypsum boards lining both sides).

Rigid walls

The wall should be at least 150 mm thick (made of concrete, reinforced concrete, cellular concrete, solid hollow or grid brick, with a density of not less than 600 kg/m3).

Rigid floor

The floor should be at least 150 mm thick (made of concrete or reinforced concrete with a density of not less than 1700 kg/m3).

Transport and storage

Transport and store (in original and unopened packaging) in a safe, dry place at +5°C to +35°C.
Shelf life: 12 months from date of manufacture.
